Watmos Tower Block Refurbishment Programme 2020-2022
Exciting renovations and improvements planned for your home.
Watmos Community Homes are very pleased to tell you about an exciting refurbishment project for the Burrowes St, Chuckery, Leamore and Sandbank communities which begins soon. These are changes for the better and will refresh and renew how your building looks. It will make your home more energy efficient too.
The project will include; the installation of external wall insulation (EWI), refurbishment of your balcony and new double-glazed UPVC windows for your home and communal areas. The project will also include necessary repairs to the concrete and structure of your block.
The colours have been chosen!
Many thanks to those who took part in the colour choice survey, the results are now in and we can reveal what they are!
We had an overwhelming response from the residents to pick the colour they would like to see their block finished in once the refurbishment works have been completed.
Through the resident’s involvement and following the consultation there was an overall consensus of dark blue and grey to be used across all the estates.
The final colour choices are as follows:
Chuckey Estate - White and Dark Blue
Sandbanks Estate - White and Dark Blue
Kenilworth House - White and Dark Blue
Conway House - White and Dark Blue
Harlech House - White and Dark Blue
Ludlow House - White and Grey
Dover House - White and Grey
Pembroke House - White and Grey
Burrowes Street Estate:
Winn House - White and Dark Blue
Regent House - White and Dark Blue
Tibbites House - White and Dark Blue
Burrowes House - White and Grey
Farringdon House - White and Grey
Richards House - White and Grey
Images of how the blocks will look once completed can be found on the individual block pages.
Resident Consultation Event
We will be organising a fire demonstration of the EWI system to provide safety assurances for residents. Further updates will be published on your noticeboards, the Watmos website, the Facebook group (facebook.com/groups/watmosproject) and through your TMO.
It is our intention to host a ‘Resident Consultation Event’ in a local venue. This event will provide an overview of the project, introduce the team and Tenant Liaison Officer (TLO) and give you an opportunity to ask any questions.
In the current circumstances it would not be appropriate to hold the above Fire Demonstration and the Resident Consultation Event. We still intend to hold these events and will do so when it is safe and appropriate for us to do.
When will work start on my block?
Covid restrictions have meant the scheduled commencement of works have been delayed, we now hope to start in the middle of April 2021, and we hope to finish in summer 2022. The work will start when all the safety arrangements have been put into place. Each block will be worked on individually, and every effort will be made to reduce disruption and to ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently. For individual block information please select from the list below:
